Goutam Basak

With over 3 decades of practice in photography as a professional, Goutam Basak has seen it all and experienced a lot more. Starting out as a scientific photographer, he honed his photography skills to perfection in various technical aspects of photography. Quite early in his career, Goutam focused on Architecture, Product and Industrial photography as his specialization. He has shot for many major real estate developers in the city of Bangalore since the nineties and has garnered many accolades for his unique perspective of capturing spaces.

Despite being focused on his practice of commercial photography, Goutam has been very passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with those who are hungry to learn. It is with the goal of establishing a one of a kind gurukul of art, he founded Drishti School of Photography in the year 2000. Since then he hasn’t looked back. With students from all over the world, he has successfully trained hundreds of aspiring photographers at Drishti and helped launch their careers. Over the past two decades he has meticulously developed the 6-month long Professional Photography Course that can get someone with no knowledge of photography to learn photography and the latest techniques in the field and kick-start a photography career soon after. He is revered by every student and alumni of Drishti and is a massive source of inspiration to everyone associated with him.

Anirban Basak

Anirban had an early start with photography and started communicating with light and shadows while still quite young. His artistic journey, replete with analyzing various forms of art on a regular basis, combined with his experiences from travel and working with music, inspires him to capture the beauty around him. Having learnt the various tricks of the trade over the years, he adds a unique touch of creativity in his works. With a technical background of an engineer, he keeps up with ever-evolving technology in the field of art and beyond, making striking pictures of even the most mundane of things.

Anirban predominantly works with architecture, products and food in his commercial photography practice. He is particular about retouching all of his pictures and believes it is all a part of a single process that translates from his mind, to the camera and eventually to the screen or print. Apart from conventional photography, he works on a lot of different new age techniques of photo presentation like time-lapses, photo stacking, virtual reality and even sometimes edits his images with code. When he is not working as a photographer, he is either a musician, filmmaker, traveler or an electronics geek.
